Prestress Losses are computed at initial stage at transfer of prestressing (by cutting the strands) and also long term losses under service loads including all dead and live loads. The losses are computed as per IS:1343-1980. Initial losses are Steel Relaxation and Elastic Shortening computed using equations 18.5.2.3 and 18.5.2.4 respectively. Final Losses are due to Concrete Shrinkage and concrete creep computed as per equations 18.5.2.2 and 18.5.2.1 respectively.
